This is a very good copy of the First American edition in an unclipped dust jacket. Centers on the delicate, and often contentious, relationship between the Mormons and the Union, personified in Brigham Young and Gen. Patrick Connor.

Worcester, MA: Achille J. St. Onge, 1964. First Thus [1 of 500 copies] . Leatherbound. Very Good. (2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches (61 pages). A very handsome miniature book of poems by the American poet, critic and fantasy author Thomas Burnett Swann. This is one of the smallest produced by St. Onge, in a limited edition of 500 copies, bound in full dark blue calf, blind-stamped, all edges gilt. The condition is virtually mint. ACHILLE J. ST. ONGE (1913–1978) was the greatest maker of miniature books in the 20th Century. Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, he began producing them as a hobby in 1935. By the time he ceased in 1977, St. Onge had created 48 miniature masterpieces on an eclectic variety of subjects. The books all remain much-prized by collectors.

This is a very good copy, in an edge-chipped dust jacket; inscribed and signed in ink on the front free endpaper by co-author Harris Lewine and by artist Paul Bacon, who wrote the Introduction.
