Des Moines: Mills & Company, Printers and Publishers, 1876. 8vo, dark green boards lettered in lighter green, 278 pp. Early Iowa community cookbook published by a Church auxiliary group as their Bicentennial Project. From the preface: "This little book is an outgrowth from the experience of many who wait upon the domestic altars of our city. It gives the results of countless experiments in the direction of prudent wholesome, healthful, enjoyable cooking. Among the numerous and wide-ranging list of dishes are a recipe for "Ochra, Or Gumbo Soup," and several prairie chicken recipes including "To Fry Prairie Chicken" and "Stewed Prairie Chicken"; a brief section at the end "Recipes for the Sick," contains a recipe for Tamarind Syrup. Covers faded and heavily stained, wear to corners, small hole through one leaf, pages lightly toned with occasional spattering/staining, lacking front endpaper.

Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1900. First Edition. 8vo, xiii, [1], 216 pp, three plates. Ownership inscriptions to front pastedowns. Wear and discoloration to covers, bit of chipping along joints, foxing to pages.

Gettysburg, Pa, 1969. Two autographed cards. One measures 4 x 2" and is signed "With best wishes Dwight Eisenhower." The other measures 4.5 x 3" and is signed "Mamie Doud Eisenhower." Together with the original mailing envelope sent from the Eisenhower home in Gettysburg, Pa in 1969. From the collection of a mid 19th century Pennsylvania autograph collector. In nice condition.

Chicago: Rand, McNally and Co., Circa 1885. Original green cloth, titles and design to front cover and spine gilt, gilt top page edge. A very good copy with slight roll to spine, light soiling to pages, ends of spine and corners bumped and rubbed lightly, light soiling to covers.

Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1916 and 1917. 8vos, blue cloth with gilt lettering, [26], 541 pp, and [26], 539 pp, illustration plates. Two volumes. In nice condition with bumping to corners, mild wear and scuffing to covers, hint of pink staining to edge of second volume.

New York: Columbia University Press, 1966. Complete six volume set. 8vos, red cloth, four volumes retain original glassine. Second printing. Very good with occasional wear and discoloration along edges, bit of foxing to endpapers and hint of staining to text block edges.

Boston: DeWolfe, Fiske & Co, Circa 1890. 4to, pictorial covers with cloth spine, illustrated with ten chromolithographed plates. An attractive copy with edge wear to covers, area of soiling and minor offsetting to rear cover.

New York and London: John Lane, 1907. First edition. 8vo, green cloth with gilt lettering, 96pp, with most of original dust jacket laid in (lacking DJ spine). This copy inscribed by the author's wife, Helen Worden Erskine, dated 1957. An attractive copy with hint of wear to covers, light damp stain to upper margin of pages, dust jacket toned, chipped, and damp stained.

New York: Appleton and Company, 1905. Hardcover, original decorative red block further decorated in gilt, 527 pp. An excellent copy with toning to pages and owner inscription to front endpapers. The memoirs of Napoleon III's dentist, Dr. Thomas W. Evans, in a lovely example of an American decorative publisher's binding signed by Amy Richards (Amy Carol Rand).

New York: Museum of Modern Art, 1938. 4to, black cloth, 198pp, with original dust jacket. First edition, first printing, with limitation page at end of book, errata slip bound in. Book with owner inscription (State College, 1938) to front endpaper, glue residue from removed bookplate to front pastedown, also with wear to lower portion of front cover, minor toning to pages. Dust jacket toned, with a bit of chipping to corners and spine ends, more significant chipping to lower portion of front panel.

New York, 1863. Handwritten letter, 8.5 x 11", 2pp, by William Evarts, American lawyer and statesman who served as U.S. Secretary of State, U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator from New York, written to his friend Edwards Pierrepont, attorney, reformer, jurist, traveler, New York U.S. Attorney, U.S. Attorney General, U.S. Minister to England, and orator. Evarts writes "I wished to learn what your disposition was Windsor-wards as well as to learn how you stand on the political questions of the day...no one return acknowlesdgement is of more interest to me than your's, Lincoln's, Clause's, Morgan's & Seymours." In very good condition, a bit yellowed, with folding creases.
