Venezia: Biennale di Venezia, 1959. Evenly toned; wear at spine ends and to hinges, edges; very good.. 4to, 96pp + 56pp advertising section; original wrappers. Fully illustrated and graphically electric official program of the 1959 Venice Film Festival, which included such notable features as Billy Wilder's "Some Like It Hot" and Otto Preminger's "Anatomy of a Murder" alongside films by Claude Chabrol, Ingmar Bergman, Juan Antonio Bardem, and the grand prize winner "Il Generale della Rovere" by Roberto Rosselini. The full-page color printed ads in the rear comprise an excellent mini-exhibition of Italian graphic design at mid-century. This copy belonged to the American filmmaker and editor Sidney Meyers, whose "The Savage Eye" was shown at the festival. Laid in at the front is a letter to Meyers from the festival's secretary confirming his nomination to be on the jury of the following year's festival.

Carcassonne: Comite des Fetes, 1951. Discreet ownership stamps internally; fine. 8vo, unpag. pamphlet in printed wrappers, stapled. Printed program from the first iteration of this festival, intended as a popular event for regular filmgoers rather than the specialized elite sort of festival represented by Cannes. The program included premieres of Jean Tedesco's "Napoleon" and Gilbert de Daunant's short film "Anone"; the Czech puppet-animation "Prince Bayaya" shown for the first time in France, as well as acknowledged classics such as Eisenstein's "Alexander Newski."
