Map depicts the provinces of East and West Florida as they emerged following the Treaty of Paris that ended the French and Indian War. Extends from New Orleans and Mississippi River east to the Bahamas, north as far as Savannah and south to Cuba. In an effort to show the Everglades, the Florida peninsula is shown as a series of islands. Shows political boundaries, cities, forts, canals, rivers, swamps and American Indian tribes. Previously framed with both showing acid-burning but not unpleasantly so. Light foxing and soiling. Verso blank on both. Manuscript pencil notation lower left corner. Good Condition. Sir John Gilbert (1817-1897) did the woodcut illustrations for the Howard Staunton edition of "The Plays of Shakespear, published in 1860 and was known as a prolific watercolorist. He was made a member of the Royal Academy in 1876.

Railroad Time Book Compliments of the Makers of Asbestol, Eisendrath's Celebrated Horse Hide Gloves and Mittens, Chicago, Illinois, circa 1916, 3.25 x 7.75 inches, unpaginated 32 pp. Staple-bound color pictorial wrappers; bottom corner bumped; interior contains one timetable entry and previous owner name, else clean, unmarked; overall good condition. Mostly blank railroad time table booklet. There is only one entry in the time table, dated 12/1, and the previous owner's name, G. L. Poffenberger, written on the last page. This booklet was published by Eisendrath's Glove Company; in the early to mid-20th century, they were one of the world's major producers of leather for footwear, and the Eisendrath name was well-known in the leather industry. This booklet contains a few pages of advertisements for Eisendrath's Asbestol gloves and mittens. A great railroad collector's item.

Stevens, Yuma, AZ, 1912, 10.75 x 8.5 inches, 1 pp. Single sheet of off-white paper with black ink lettering and decorative green border design to front; stamped with the Yuma Warrior Mining Company paper seal to lower left corner; middle section of back previously folded into thirds, with "Certificate for 10000 Shares of the Capital Stock, Yuma Warrior Mining Company, issued to Morris Goldwater April 1st, 1912" and elegant border design in green ink. Light wear and soiling along creases on back; three small dark brown spots to left edge on front; two small holes in the paper seal where the embosser must have punched through the paper; otherwise bright and clean document. Gove, Aboard the Barque Nahumkeag, October 3, 1864, 7.75 x 9.75 inches, bifolio 4 pp. Four-page manuscript letter on lined paper; one 2.5 inch closed tear and a few smaller closed tears along previous folds, content still legible; manuscript writing clean, bright; good condition. This letter was sent by a J. M. Gove whilst sailing aboard the Barque Nahumkeag, dated October 3, 1864; it is addressed simply "Dear Friend Gove". J. M. Gove writes about being "on my way to San Francisco - with lumber, as usual lines are not very brisk at present." The lively content in this letter provides insight into a California resident's concerns and thoughts during the US Civil War. Photo is fairly sharp with strong contrast. Very Good Condition. Iconic photograph by well-known photographer John C.H. Grabill, dated 1891 and copyrighted by the Grabill Portrait and View Company, Deadwood, South Dakota. The legend in the negative states the photo was shot between Sturgis and Deadwood, South Dakota and shows at least nine wagons and six teams of oxen. At least three sets of wagons were pulled in tandem. Electrical wires and a pole is visible behind the teams. Informative and chatty letter from Clarissa Green to her husband Josiah. Second part of letter to "Friend William". The Green family of Salisbury New Hampshire is well documented although we're curious as to why Josiah is residing in Charlestown, Massachusetts, away from his wife in Salisbury. Nonetheless, Josiah worked as a carpenter and clock repairer and was active in the local Baptist Church. Partially filled five-year Diary of Romer Zane Grey, Altadena, California which begin to be used on Christmas 1934 and is primarily used in 1935, 1936, 1937 with a few scattered entries into 1938 and none for 1939. Inconsistently used with long gaps without entries. Romer Grey (1909-1976) was the eldest son of the novelist Zane Grey and followed in his father's career as a writer, but never gained success as such, likely finding it difficult to work in Zane Grey's shadow. Romer worked briefly as a contract writer for Paramount Pictures and toiled as a producer in charge of making movies based on his father's novels. Very Good Condition. 1954 third draft of a teleplay titled "Arizona Ames" based on the western novel by Zane Grey. The novel was first published in the United States in 1932. The script for the teleplay was written by Nate Watt and Jean Vachon, and it was being produced by Zane's son as Romer Zane Grey Productions.

Zane Grey (1872-1939) was an American author of Western novels and short stories, best known for his book Riders of the Purple Sage. This unique typed manuscript appears to be a copy of the original, as there are no indents on the versos; however, it has been copyedited by hand in pencil and ink throughout. This short story, The Great Slave, was published in Grey's 1923 book "Tappan's Burro and Other Stories". Typed manuscript for Zane Grey's article which appeared in the January 1924 issue of "Outdoor America" titled "Trails over the Glass Mountains". The manuscript title was amended in pencil to "Over Glass Mountain" but reverted to the original title at publication. Zane Grey made several trips (1913, 1922, 1923 and 1929) to the wilds of northern Arizona and southern Utah utilizing the services of famed scout and Indian trader John Wetherill. These explorations resulted in numerous articles and at least four published books including perhaps his best-known title, "Riders of the Purple Sage". Rare and perhaps lone surviving 6th plate studio tintype image of Sioux captive and Army scout Frank Grouard (1850-1905). Few Indian Wars personalities led the life Frank Grouard did. Born into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint missionary family in the Tuamotu Archipelago in 1850, Grouard's father was of European descent, his mother Polynesian. His mother returned to the South Pacific in 1853 with his two brothers and Frank was adopted 2 years later by the Pratt family of Beaver, Utah. He left home at the age of 15, heading north to Montana where he became an express rider and stage driver. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 1944. 16pp. 6.25 x 3.75 inches. Yellow wrapper with green screened design on front. Very light soiling. Clean interior. Very good condition. A curious little booklet produced in December 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. OCLC notes two copies, one in New York and one in New Zealand and hints that this was a periodical, yet we find no other issues. The publishers were members of the American Amateur Press Association, the National Amateur Press Association and the United Amateur Press Alumni Association of which we guess only the first group may have actually existed. A humorous little booklet which includes a patented Lost Chord Cigarette Lighter (tear off half a page from the booklet, insert paper to flame then apply to cigarette).

1957. Extensive Photo Archive and Expense Account for Swiss Ice Skater Heidi Gustafson nee Pluss--Ice Follies 1957. Archive composed of three 9.5 x 7-inch promotional photos, 63 photos (of various sizes) plus ephemera in photo album/autograph book dated 1946-1957 and 30, 5.75 x 4-inch promotional images. Also includes a 1957 Weekly Expense Account Booklet for Heidi Gustafson as a member of the Ice Follies Ice Show. Generally, in very good condition. Photos in autograph book in photo corners but numerous photos are loose. Small archive for the Swiss National Champion Female Ice Skater for 1949 Heidi Pluss. Pluss also was awarded a Gold Medal from the Swiss Skating Association in 1950. She skated for the Ice Follies in 1953 and 1957 and also taught ice skating. During her 1957 stint with the Ice Follies, she would meet her future husband, American Roger Gustafson whom she would marry the next year, moving to the United States to his home in Illinois.
