Paradise Valley, AZ: Pro West, 1980. First edition. Hardcover, 6 1/4" x 9 1/4", green boards with black lettering in glossy pictorial dust jacket, 271 pp. Very Good/Very Good jacket, soiled and edgeworn throughout but complete.. The last Edsel known to be built came off the assembly line of a Louisville, KY Ford Motors Plant November 19, 1959. Warnock spent years interviewing former Ford fabricators, designers and linesmen attempting to reconstruct the short history(1957-1960) of the Edsel automobile once he found out that all pre-1957 documenting and photographic memoranda of the automobile had disappeared. Named after Henry Ford's son, the Edsel failed commercially after a multi-hundred thousand dollar advertising campaign and it's television debut on the Bing Crosby show with Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney and Louis Armstrong in 1957. The car was introduced during a time of noted depression in car sales.

Philadelphia: Dorrance & Company, 1950. First Edition. 12mo, red boards with gilt stamped lettering to front and spine, 232 pp. Near Fine, trace edge wear to boards, light foxing to end papers, minor abrasion to top of text block, previous owner inscription to FFEP./Very Good pictorial jacket, fading to spine, light edgewear, soiling, rubbing. All material present.. Grandson of the famed political theorist and economist Henry George, Henry George III set out to write a novel on the dangerous labor condition of coal miners in the Eastern U.S., inspired by the particular plight of labor as it relates to the political ideas of his grandfather, where a single land tax (and that land's natural resources) alone could suffice to subsidize and sustain a just and equal society. Blood & Coal is his attempt to illuminate the injustice of the working conditions of miners as well as their relation to the capital and value being extracted through their exploitation. Scarce as is, especially so in a presentable jacket.
