From a printed but hand signed covering letter tipped-in to the first leaf ' In the name of the H C Oersted Committee I have the honour of sending you, under separate cover, a copy of a pamphlet issued in commemoration of the Discovery of Electromagnetism by H C Oersted 100 years ago. The pamphlet contains facsimile reproductions of the Latin communication of Oersted from 1820: EXPERIMENTA CIRCA EFFECTUM CONFLICTUS ELECTRICI IN ACUM MAGNETICAN and of the French, Italian, German and English translations which appeared soon after in various reviews.
