Hardcover. Good. These are the first two volumes of (apparently) a three volume set. The volumes are about 350 pages each and they give an overview of a variety of subjects as they were taught in 1917.
Good set, tight binding, clean, unmarked pages, though tanned with age. Dark green covers with embossed design and gold lettering on spine, marbled design on page edges, also tanned with age. Illustrations throughout with some color plates. Vol 1 has one ripped page, but complete page is included. Some wear at spine edges and ends, otherwise great condition.

Fair. Former library book. The cover on this hardback book is lightly worn along the edges and has been repaired with tape on the spine and cover corners. There are notes and underlined sections throughout the book. The cover is beginning to pull free. The library has marked the book as follows: there is a sticker on the spine, a stamp on the page ends, stickers, stamps, a note, and a card holder inside the front cover, stamps and a note on the title page, a note on the table of contents, a stamp on page 51, and a sticker on the back cover.

Fair. POOR CONDITION BUT STILL USABLE. This book's cover is thoroughly worn and quite soiled. Inside, the front hinge is weak and the binding is broken in a couple of places. It is a fomer-library book.

Novr. 1922" is written on the front free end paper. Included with the book is a one-page advertising flier from the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection. The text is unmarked and the binding is intact (although the front hinge is loosening slightly). The blue-cloth cover is bright with gold lettering. The cover is shelf-worn and slightly darkening around the edges, and the head and toe of the spine are bumped. The toe of the spine has two tiny tears (where the cloth is frayed). Tight binding with clean, unmarked pages. Very slight wear at corners and small crease across bottom corner of front cover.

Paperback. Very Good. This book is like new except for very slight wear to the cover edges and page 83 has been dog-eared. The binding is tight and the pages are clean and crisp. Both Mike and Rachel Hanneman have signed the book with a short inscription, all inside the front cover.
