Perelman was the writer of Broadway productions, Hollywood screenplays (both credited and uncredited under MGM) and the author of an impressive body of literature. He is known as the person who popularized the phrase "crazy like a fox" after he used it as the title of his 1944 book by the same name. This work first serialized between 1928 and 1929 in Argosy.
