Camden : A.J. Doust, 'Times' Office, 1884. ""Being a reprint from the Camden Times, 1883."" Octavo, disbound (stapled by the printer, and later stitched by the author), a misprinted proof copy with several missing pages (33 ; 36-37 ; 40-41) supplied by the author in manuscript (in ink on ruled blue paper), with the author's annotations and corrections throughout and one contemporary newspaper clipping from The Herald pinned at page 38 (a letter to the editor by Benson (?) written under the pseudonym Currency Lad, relating to the content of page 38); scattered foxing. A unique copy of this personal memoir of the historic district of Camden, southwest of Sydney, in the mid-nineteenth century. It also contains significant content on Sydney and Parramatta. John Benson Martin (1818-1908) served as Clerk of Petty Sessions at Camden. Ferguson, 12305

Steel, 57 x 190 x 12 mm, engraved in reverse; well preserved, in the printer's brown paper wrapping with specimen printing pasted on (some loss); on one edge the paper is date-stamped 12 Dec 1952 (date of manufacture of the block) with the serial number E5530 and name (presumably of the printer) C. E. Jacks, while the specimen printing itself is date-stamped 16 Dec 1952.

Folio, gilt-embossed green oxford buckram clamshell box measuring 395 x 290mm containing title sheet and nine original etchings each 380 x 280mm, each signed and titled by the artist. Edition limited to thirty copies. ‘Ulysses by James Joyce has been the source of inspiration and titles for paintings, by Robert Jacks, since 1965. It’s been a long romance. Two volumes in plastic slipcase, quarto, each with diecut wrappers, the first volume being a 144 page monograph on the seminal exhibition of Australian modernism held in 1968, the second volume being a 96 page facsimile of the rare original 1968 catalogue. Quarto, illustrated wrappers, pp. [36], illustrated in colour, essay by Douglas Stewart, 73 works photographed and catalogued, with prices. One of a handful of copies signed by the artist in 2010.

New York : the artist, 1976, [remade in Harcourt, Victoria, circa 2007]. Folio, stamp-titled wrappers, nine leaves of hand stamped designs. Produced in an edition of three copies, signed and numbered by the artist. This is an unsigned artist's proof copy. This book is a study of colour and line. It forms design basis for drawings and studies exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada. Six finished copies were produced in 1976, the stamps printed on a grid background. The Bloomsday book was conceived by Jacks as part of his involvement with the centenary of Bloomsday, the day of events in the work Ulysses. The book features striking Robert Jacks designs interwoven with poems, comments and quotations from the Joyce classic.

New York : Robert Jacks, 1977 [remade in Harcourt, Victoria, 2007]. Folio, blue card hand-stamped wrappers, staple bound with cloth tape, ten leaves of blue card, each punched with a hole at a different point. Upon flicking through, the series of holes forms a spiral, one of Jacks’ emblems. Printed an edition of 5 copies, signed, numbered and titled by the artist on the upper wrapper. Originally created in New York with the title Spiral Drawing in an anticipated edition of 50 copies, in fact only 10 copies were made. Spiral Drawing was one of a series of three 'punched' books, Circular Drawing, Spiral Drawing and Top - Bottom which were also issued bound as a set of the three volumes with the title in manuscript 'who's afraid of red, yellow and blue'.
