On December 15, the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU adopted a decision "On measures in connection with the release of Comrade L. Korvalan", in accordance with which a special aircraft was allocated to deliver Korvalan and his family from Zurich, where the exchange was planned, to the USSR.
