A handbook for nurses involved in the fight against tuberculosis, written by Ellen La Motte, a prominent American nurse, journalist, and author who was a leader in the battle against tuberculosis. La Motte was also one of the first American nurses to travel to Europe during World War I, and wrote a book, titled "The Backwash of War", about these experiences. This text, meanwhile, was compiled based on her experiences engaged in tuberculosis work as field nurse of the Visiting Nurse Association of Baltimore, and as organizer and director of the Tuberculosis Division of the Baltimore Health Department. A good, sound copy with soiling and toning to covers, wear and slight frayin to corners and spine tips, spine lettering and gilt faded away, bit of staining to rear cover, hint of toning and foxing to pages.

An attractive copy with spine faded, wear to corners, edges and spine tips, bump to upper corner along spine, slight toning to endpapers.

New York: Longmans, Green and Co., 1920. Octavo, original green cloth illustrated boards. A vintage copy of one of Lang’s collected rainbow fairy tale titles. This copy was in a school library and retains a stamp to front pastedown and title page (no lending card pockets present). Grey endpapers seem to also have been added, else copy with toned pages and some blue and other staining to corners, foxing, cloth covers with moderate wear and rubbing along extremities, corners and ends of spine rubbed and bumped, still a nice vintage copy of this title.

Also with the presentation booklate belonging to Vivian M Carkeek at the Univ of Washington school of law. An attractive copy with fading to spine, bit of wear to edges, minor toning to pages.
