Probably a pirated publication of Tom of Finland's imagery, examples of which were printed and widely circulated in adult shops before the establishment of the Tom of Finland Company by Laaksonen and Durk Dehner in 1979.

In recent years Felice Beato (1832-1909) has come to be recognized as one of the major photographers of the nineteenth century, yet until now there has been no general survey of his singular life and work. Born in Venice, Italy, Beato came of age in the Ottoman capital of Constantinople. As a young apprentice in 1856, he photographed the sites of the Crimean War, thereby launching a long and remarkably adventurous career. Folio, illustrated cover with inset portrait of a young woman, contemporary cloth backing, 6 pp of musdical notationrear cover with music for Within the law waltz by Gustave Leon, a very good copy.  The prolific Scottish composer Felix Burns published popular dance tunes between the late 1880s and early 1920s, using various names including Leona Lacoste, Claud Roslind and Leon Fabrina. A single copy of Heliotrope valse is recorded in Australian collections (National Library of Australia). 

Lugduni Batavorvm [Leiden] : Ex officina Elzeviriana, 1629. 32mo (105 x 63 mm), contemporary vellum (very lightly marked), spine lettered in ink 'Gallia'; edges stained red; engraved title-page, pp. [xvi], 461, [1]; pages tanned, tear to one leaf (no loss of text), otherwise very good throughout; verso of front endpaper with old stamp of Biblioteca Trieste G.A. Leban. A scarce and desirable example of the Elzevier printing of Joannes de Laet’'s “Gallia, a work on the geography and history of France, including descriptions of its cities and towns, and biographies of the French kings from the earliest times. It was one of numerous works published by Elzevier in the 1620s and 30s under the general title 'Respublica', many of which were compiled by Dutch geographer Joannes de Laet (1581-1649), a director of the Dutch West Indies Company. These imprints were essentially early travel guides to European countries or regions.

Finnish philosopher and scientist Gunnar Landtman (1878-1940) has sometimes been called the first modern sociological anthropologist. His most important expedition was a two-year trip to New Guinea where he conducted research among the Kiwai of the Papuan Gulf region from 1910 to 1912.
