A leather patch with a coat of arms and the title of the book plus the word ""proof"" has been pasted onto the front cover. 11.5ins x 9.25ins, [iv], 229pp, errata page, additional title page vignette & 12 full page tissue guarded illustrations including a plan of the harbour. The illustrations were all engraved by Joseph Swan. Many of the plates have marginal stains - but these do not affect the images. An attractive copy of a scarce title.
