Boards have moderate rubbing to edges; text block has moderate offsetting on leaves with an opposite illustration; previous owner's inscription on front endpaper "Charles Leland Cogil from Aunt Heattie." This printing follows a previous printing issued with a slipcase and the author's full middle name, instead of just "F." This publication has beautiful tipped-in illustrations alongside the text which recounts the history of the property planned for development on Santa Monica Bay. Significant tearing along folds, but map is still very readable. One chip measuring about one inch by half an inch is missing, impacting content. Overall, good condition. This railroad map of Ohio was published in 1914. It shows the various steam and electric railways throughout the state in different colors as well as towns, county seats, and some state institutions such as hospitals and universities. .

In 1940, Japan planned a year-long celebration of the 2600th anniversary of the empire as founded by the legendary first Emperor Jimmu, descended from the sun goddess Amaterasu. To inspire national pride, celebrations, monuments, publications, and propaganda pieces were planned. Several composers including German composer Richard Strauss were even commissioned to write musical pieces celebrating the anniversary. This collection of 105 black and white photos of Mt. Fuji is one representation of the large scale of this celebration. Incorporated in 1883, the Colorado Midland Railway was the first standard gauge railroad to cross the Continental Divide in Colorado. It ran from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction. This nicely produced booklet describes the characteristics and agricultural prospects of the land along the route. The photographs show irrigation canals; farms and orchards; cattle ranches; packing, inspection, and transport of produce; a sugar beet factory at Grand Junction; and even a "happy and prosperous Colorado farmer" fishing in his leisure time. Very Good. Ephemera. Northwest Territorial land warrant document dated to May 1789 in Marietta, Northwest Territory. Reads: "S. S: Your land warrant was put into one of my shares of course you own 200 acres of land with me. Marietta May 10th, 1789" and is signed "R Oliver" (Colonel Robert Oliver) ; docketed on verso, reads: "Col Oliver for 200 Acres". Document is on a small sheet of paper measuring 8" x 2 ¼". Very good condition with ½" tear along one mailing fold and light toning. Marietta was the first permanent settlement of the Northwest Territory and was established in 1788. Located along the Ohio River in the eastern part of what would become the state of Ohio (Ohio became a state in 1803). This legal document was written by Robert Oliver (1738-1811) , who was a captain in the Revolutionary War from Conway, Massachusetts. The Rio-Oso Site was first discovered in the early summer of 1957 by the Army Corps of Engineers during levee repair operations.
