Later reproduction of this Onitsha Market pamphlet which lent its title to Kurt Thometz's 2001 anthology of the genre. Onitsha Market Literature, printed and distributed at the Onitsha Market (Nigeria's largest open-air market), consists of moralist and folkloric tales, remarkable as signposts of the specific crossroads of an oral culture being dually translated into the English language and the printed word.
