Quincy set off from his hometown of Boston for a missionary position in Georgia in 1734. Records are vague, but it appears his stay was tumultuous, at one point reporting he had performed thirty-four christenings, thirty-eight marriages, and 156 burials - a less-than-uplifting picture is painted.
