An early reprint of the 1st Edition ( 1735 ) but containing the same number of large fold-out maps as that edition. Volumes 1 and 2 contain the complete six books of the military memoirs ( including all maps). Volumes 3 & 4 are 5 books of additional letters, and political pieces noted as Preuves De L'Histoire du Vicomte de Turenne. There may have been an additional book of letters, etc. not present with this set. Head and tailpieces chipped or lacking, wear to extremities, stamped title to spine of Vol. 1 lacking, short tears to several maps. All in all a Good set with some very crisp well preserved large folding maps. Featured Sets.

Bright original Dustwrapper presents various marginal chipping with a short one inch piece lacking at bottom edge of front panel and similar condition to headpiece. Middle of spine panel soiled. This Edition is Limited to 750 copies. Signed by Rawlings and Wyeth to Limitation Page. Of the 770 copies issued in the total run of this Signed,Limited Edition, only 520 were bound in Aqua cloth and accompanied by like Chemise and Slipcase, as is this copy. The remaining 250 copies were issued in dark blue cloth and matching slipcase and were published at a later time. Illustrated with 16 full page coloured plate by N.C. Wyeth, two of which are charcoal and wash full page illustrations executed specifically for this Limited Edition.Also includes a facsimile of a hand-written letter by Wyeth during a trip to Florida with Rawlings. Spine strip has been replaced with heavy coated tape to create a rather dubious but adequate faux leather effect. Boards well worn and rubbed obscuring most of original titling and decorations. Evident repair to front hinge with lack of continuity between front pastedown and Title Page at gutter.Lacks blank flyleaf and frontis portrait. Some sporadic mild scattered foxing, offset and soiling throughout. Although afflicted with cosmetic flaws, this is a Good, tight copy of one of the rarest of all Civil War Regimental histories.

An innovative work of staggering proportions, this work was designed to allow doctors and medical students to visualize the surgical field with the reality that no two dimensional drawings or photogrphs could provide. The 3d photographs are accompanied by a step by step procedural by Victor Richards, Chief of Surgery at Stanford Hospital and Children's Hospital in San Francisco.
