The emphasis seems to be on various types of aerial attacks and civilian defense mobilisation and training. The specific "textbooks" were compiled and bound into one volume titled "Textbooks." The various textbooks are: "First Aid in the Prevention and Treatment of Chemical Casualties," "Fire Protection in Civilian Defense," "Standard School Lectures in Civilian Defense: Series 1, Series 2 & Series 3," "Protection Against Gas" The School Lectures include such things as training, organization, different types of attacks (gas, fire, poison, phosphoros, etc.). The author was an American mountaineer and writer who was well-qualified to write this book as he was intimately aquainted with Everest and many of the people who attempted to conquer the mountain. Previous owner's name on the front end paper, else a clean, tight, unmarked book in the publisher's original black cloth covers with gilt spine lettering. The dust jacket has a few marginal tears and is price-clipped; the jacket's spine is faded and waterstained (not affecting the book itself). ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 411 pages .
