Internally some very minor foxing, mainly confined to pre-lim pages, otherwise sound.

O'Brien had obtained a B.A. at Trinity College in 1831 and a year later he published his dissertation on the Round Towers of Ireland which he submitted to the Royal Irish Academy for a prize of a gold medal and purse of £50. The award went to George Petrie but O'Brien was awarded a consolation prize of £20.
