Some signs of shelf wear, a little tearing at top of spine and corners of boards, which are bumped. Binding reasonably firm, a little straining throughout but otherwise good, hinges intact. Upper page edge gilt, outer and lower edges deckled and outer edges a little jagged from having been cut. Some scuffing to upper edge and browning to outer and lower edges but quite clean. Thrilling Stories for Girls Hardback, pictorial card boards and spine, circa 1925, illustrated, published by Thomas Nelson & Sons, Ltd. Boards and spine have slight marking, scuffing and wear but in very good condition for age. Slightly bumped corners, one of which is a little torn. Binding quite firm. A little foxing and browning to page edges and occasionally on page surfaces but pages generally clean. Prizegiving bookplate from 1926 on FFEP but otherwise no writing, underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.

A print of a water colour called 'In the Lakes' by John Varley. A vintage print, many decades old. This print was taken from the book 'English Diaries and Journals' by Kate O'Brien, part of the Britain in Pictures series. This particular edition was published in 1943 by Collins, London. Very light marking and a small amount of foxing near edges but otherwise clean. Mounted and matted with white and antique-white acid-free card, measuring 10" x 8" (25.4cm x 20.3cm) with a window size of a little under 8" x 6" and comes in a cellophane bag. This would make for a lovely gift and may appeal to those interested in the British countryside, nature, the work of John Varley or art generally.
