The books exposes corruption and financial mismanagement in the Crown, government and Church of Britain and Ireland, and calls for changes in the Franchise, It was published to generate support for the reform of government of Britain. at a time of great upheaval in British history following the death of George IV, and its supporters were largely responsible for bringing about the Reform Act of 1832

Very scarce in this edition probably due to error on title page referring to W H Longfellow (see photo). Very clean throughout. Full soft calf leather yapped covers with gilt title to front and spine with blind tooled art nouveau decoration to front minimal handling wear. Pictorial end papers depicting courting shepherd and shepherdess, Colour title page with further art nouveau design and colour frontispiece. Two further colour tipped in illustrations. Undated but circa 1900 - 1910. Features a small selection of Longfellow's poetry but mainly taken up with "The Courtship of Miles Standish" for contents see photo. This is a lovely well preserved edition made more collectible for the error to the title page. 15cm x 9.5cm - 6" x 3,5" approx
