Darkened with some wear at spine ends but remaining robust. No inscriptions or markings, hinge firm. Collection of plates each with tissue-guard. Some light brown spots to edges of plates, clearing away from the end papers. The pictures themselves are unspoiled. A very neat copy.

Leipzig: Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1859. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Bound with cream vellum over the spine and corners, bloue cloth over the boards, gilt title on blue leather title plate on the spine. The vellum is a little darkened and there is a closed split to half way up the spine edge but remains attractive, robust and square. Hinge firm, marbled end papers, ex libris sticker inside the front and an address stamp to the front free end paper. Closed page edges browned but internally pages smooth clean and bright.

Grey metallic patterned dust-jacket, slight crease at top edge Bound in navy blue leather with title in silver on the spine. Small neat inscription to front end paper, thereafter unmarked, appears unread, as new. A lovely copy.

Illustrated blue cloth binding, a light scattering of small light spots across both boards and titles a little faded, small bump to the top edge but cloth remains untorn, but remaining neat and attractive still. Hinge firm, no inscriptions. A very light damp mark to the top corner of pages which becomes less and less visible, disappearing by page 48. No spots of foxing internally, pages smooth and clear, with fold out map at the rear of the book.

Illustrated cloth covered board binding with dark green/blue background, colours predominantly red green and cream. Some rubbing to spine, title no longer visible but front and back boards clean and bright. Light wear at spine ends. Text block sound, no inscriptions, beginning to split along front and rear hinges after the illustrated end papers which are intact along the join. Beautiful bright frontispiece. A few light brown marks to the title page opposite thereafter pages generally smooth and clean and clear of foxing, though one or two rogue marks here and there. Abundantly illustrated with plates and drawings in and around the text. A very nice, well preserved copy.

Hinge and text block firm. Small neat inscription dated 1795. Gilt page edges. Internally pages smooth and clean, very lightly age toned, without spotting. A very good copy indeed.
