Bound in original paper wrappers with a design by José Chávez Morado; also containing 2 engravings by José Chávez Morado inside. Wrappers are good to very good condition (especially given age and material). Spotting, soiling, and edge chipping; with publisher's device on the back and the price of 'one dollar.' Wrapper is loose at the top but overall holding firm. Copyright information on the back of front wrapper. The interior is foxed to various degrees with toning to pages; engravings are clean and all text is clear. Very rare in fully original condition.  Pages: 84 (4)     Dimensions: 9(1/8) x 6½ x (3/8).

Complete, including "La Puttana Erranta" at the end - some indication this may be the identical 1668 edition, but sources are divided on if this work is added to the 1660 or 1668 version; all available indications are this is the 1660 version. Red morocco triple ruled in gilt. Spine has five raised bands with gilded designs and title; spine repaired with original spine laid down. Fore edges slightly toned, the bottom edge isn't quite deckled, but was cut uneven from the beginning, including one small flap that is actually a small missing piece from another page (no impact to text and appears to have been true since cutting). Spine is slightl curved, but everything is holding tightly and minimal apparent wear. Some very light rubbing to spine, but corners are still sharp. Pages lightly toned.
