Staining, creasing, and foxing to covers, rusting to staples, small area of damp staining to fore edge, small area of damage along margin of title page, occasional spattering to pages.

A novel of the early Americas, the Preface to Deerslayer notes that the book is to be considered a prequel to Last of the Mohicans. Minor wear to corners and spine tips, slight spine lean, rubbing to gilt at upper text block edge. An excellent copy.

London: Victor Gollancz, 1942. First edition. 4to, blue cloth, 108 pp, with original dust jacket. Collection of charcoal drawings documenting the London Blitz during WWII, by war artist Joseph Bato. This copy inscribed by John Koenig Jr while serving with the Air Force during the war, dated 1944 in Colchester, England. Together with his bookplate to front pastedown, and an article laid in by him (he later became a prominent associated press reporter). Book in excellent condition, dust jacket toned, with 1940s bookstore sticker on spine, a hint of spotting to front panel, minor soiling to rear panel, chipping to spine ends.
