1803. Copper-line engraving. 320mm by 250mm (sheet). Born in Yorkshire, Julius Caesar Ibbetson was a watercolour and oil painter who specialized in small landscapes that contained some human and animal figures. He worked mostly out of his hometown but also spent some time in London, Scotland, and the Lake District. Ibbetson was also an etcher and published a painting treatise in 1803.

Limited edition lithograph (350) produced from the original oil painting by Richard Stone of Dame Joan Sutherland (1926-2010), the Australian soprano singer. In 2000, the Rotary Club of Camberwell commissioned Richard Stone, the Royal Court Painter, to paint a portrait of Dame Joan Sutherland as part of Australia's Centenary of Federation celebrations. The artist supervised the printing of the image at The Curwen Studios, Cambridge in 2001.The original oil now hangs in the Dame Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith. Framed. 1876. Wood-engraving. 400mm by 290mm (sheet). In October 1875, Albert Edward Prince of Wales, the eldest son of Queen Victoria, embarked on an extensive tour of the Indian subcontinent. Here the Prince visited more than 21 towns and cities before returning to England in May 1876. CONDITION : Unrelated text on the reverse.

Daniel Finch, 2nd Earl of Nottingham, 7th Earl of Winchelsea PC (1647 - 1730), was an English Tory statesman during the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. From Houbraken's series of portrait engravings which he set within elaborate cartouches. They were published by Knapton originally C1740, this impression is c1820.Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch line engraver who is known best for this series of portraits.

Elie de Guillou (1806-1855) held the position of chief surgeon (chirurgien-major) aboard the Zelee.

From 1855-1861 Nicholas Chevalier was one of the principal cartoonists most of whose work was engraved by Samuel Calvert. Reverse blank.
