This copy with the bookplate and ownership inscription of prominent English sportsman Austin Mackenzie. An attractive copy with chip to leather at head of spine, bit of edgewear to leather.

Third edition, revised and enlarged. Binding worn and scuffed chipping along spine with loss to leather, owner inscriptions to front endpapers, foxing to pages, damp staining to last 40 or so pages, chipping to margin of last 20 or so pages and to edge of rear cover, small chip to lower corner of title page.

Richmond, Virginia: Peter Cottom, 1825. Third edition, enlarged and improved. 8vo, contemporary tree calf, gilt ruled spine in six compartments, morocco and gilt spine label, 228pp, illustrated with five plates. This copy with two inscriptions and several comtemporary ownership stamps, all by members of the Satcher family of South Carolina. Rebacked preserving original spine. Both hinges reinforced with Japanese paper, as are the entire outer margin of the first eight and the last three leaves, margins of illustration plates trimmed, many other leaves with japanese paper repairs, mostly to a tear, one is to a small hole. Foxing and toning to pages.

Osborne, 1752. 6.75 x 4.25", disbound text block, [3], iv-viii, 302, [2] pp. Chipping to endpapers, mild toning and foxing to pages, upper portion of text damp stained with some pages partially sticking together, lower portion of pages 297 to 298 chipped with loss to text, binding separated in several places. A rare work of fiction relating to slavery.

London: Hutchinson and Co. , N.d.. Small quarto, original brown cloth with ghost illustration blocked to front cover, titles in black on spine. A collection noted for its 17 stories of horror and the supernatural by Blackwood, Hartley, Walpole, Machen De la Mare, D. H. Lawrence, Sinclair, and others. Includes the first appearance of the D.H. Lawrence story "The Rocking Horse Winner". No date given, but title page states Eighth Thousand. Still a very lovely vintage copy of this collection, with the spine gently rolled, pages with toning, ownership label to front pastedown, some mild spotting and staining to covers, ends of spine and corners rubbed and bumped.

Trade catalog for gift items, mostly home decor, kitchenware, toiletries, and personal accessories. Illustrated with numerous black and white half tones. Minor creasing and rubbing to covers. Very good.

Wear to covers with rubbing along edges and spine, bit of page toning, a very good, bright copy.

A good copy with pages toned, pencil notes to endpapers, minior spotting to cloth, in foxed, soiled and spotted dust jacket, spine faded, closed tears and wear to edges, shallow chipping to spine ends and corners, still a presentable copy.

Includes at the rear an early printing of Mary Had a Little Lamb. A very bright copy with covers detached from string binding, light soiling and some mild wear along edges, else a very good copy. Perfect to blend into a display.

Foxing to pages, some creasing, bit of soiling and staining, upper three inches of binding lacking stitching with pages detached from one another in this area.

No Place of Publication, 1910. Single folded leaf measuring 10.5 x 6", with four pages of text. A scarce leaflet printing an address given by J.F. Thomas, Grand Master of the Grand Benevolent Association (GBA), an African American fraternal organization. The address was given before a meeting of the association held in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1910. According to a 1913 article about the organization that appeared in several African American newspapers, Thomas was born in Westpoint, Georgia, and worked for several decades in the mines of Alabama before founding the GBA in Bessemer, Alabama in 1907. The organization quickly expanded, forming branches in Alabama, Mississippi, and South Carolina, and building a permanent home for the order in Bessemer.
