Text block has scattered foxing throughout, sometimes affecting content. Pamphlet is housed in a custom solander box, covered in grey cloth with copy of pamphlet's original wrappers tipped in on front and spine. Promoting the Salt River Valley, this pamphlet describes its surroundings, irrigations systems and canals and agricultural possibilities. Paper has been disbound and has chips on binding edge with separating pages. More than a full column is a story from Santa Fe telling of Major A. W. Evans and his troops going out from Fort Bascom in northeastern New Mexico and destroying a Cheyenne village, noting with approval that General Sheridan would soon command peace in the region. This was known as Colonel Evans' Christmas Day fight, with the campaign occurring in November and December of 1868. ; 25" x 18 1/2"; 4 pp .

Souvenir album commemorating the 1916 anniversary camp held by the National Electric Light Association as part of the General Electric Company. Album contains 85 silver gel prints of various sizes, mostly around 3”x 2”. The photos accompany a humorous long-form poem by Matthew Luckiesh, a physicist and the Director of General Electric's Lighting Research Laboratory at its Nela Park National Lamps Works facility in Ohio. The poem describes the events of the camp and names many of the participants. Many of the photos directly correspond to events mentioned in the poem. The album has dark green boards quarter bound with pebbled leather. “Camp National 1916” is stamped in yellow on the cover along with a gilt and yellow image of two fish. Anthony, likely from a Mathew Brady negative, with facsimile signatures of the party on verso. Title is on the card. Light soiling to photo and light toning to card, else very good. This image depicts the four P. T. Barnum entertainers "in the identical costumes worn before Emperor Louis Napoleon and Empress Eugenie, at the Palace of Tuilleries, Nov. 29, 1864." ; 2 1/2" x 4" .

San Francisco: Tabor. Good. Photograph. A rare boudoir card of Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton. Photo measures 4 3/4" x 8", with some soil on left side. On the verso is a list of other available photographs by H. E. Mathews, "Fifth Series--Revised December, 1887." Lick was constructed by 1888, dating the card to some time around the 1890s." 1903" is on the photo but seems to be the catalog number listed on the verso rather than a date. Mathews is quoted elsewhere as having an album with this photo in it, saying it was one of his few that escaped the 1906 San Francisco earthquake "conflagration." Leather is heavily rubbed and scuffed. Binding tight. Speckled edges, edge toning on endpapers, and vertical folds in most of the orders. Light soil on a few pages. 28 pp index, 93 orders, [8] pp forms. The order announcing James A. Garfield's death is the only signed order, by RC Drum, Adjutant General. It is followed by the announcement of Chester A. Arthur taking the oath of office. A fold-out table lists clothing allowances, a legal opinion from the Department of Justice explains a case of miners who were claiming mineral rights on Fort Maginnis, Montana land, and a 41-page order gives the budget details of funds appropriated by Congress in 1881. ; 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall .
