Cambridge: Welch, Bigelow, and Company, 1873. 7.75 x 5”, blue printed wrappers, 72 pp. An outline of the Harvard Examinations for Women, a series of tests offered by the Woman’s Education Association beginning in 1874 that were graded by Harvard professors. The tests were similar to the Harvard entrance examinations, however they did not initially serve as admissions tests, and merely were an attempt to improve the standard of education for girls. With the 1879 establishment of the Harvard Annex (later Radcliffe College), the examinations were used as admissions tests for that school. The booklet provides descriptions and outlines of the tests in various subjects, including English, French, Geography, Botany, Physics, Arithmetic, etc, with certificates offered in each subject. A nice copy with light creasing, small nicks to edges of wraps, hint of soiling.

Honolulu: Mercantile Press, [1920s]. 8vo, folding brochure with 16 printed panels, printing photographic illustrations, promotional text, and room rates for the historic Hawaiian hotel. Some soiling and creasing, very good.

London: Printed For Subscribers from the plates of the Original Edition issued by Bradbury, Agnew & Co, Circa 1892. 9.25 x 6.25", red cloth with gilt illustration and lettering, [14], 265, 30, 30 pp, black and white and color illustration plates by H.K. Browne (Phiz) and W.T. Maud. Subscription edition. A lovely decorative edition of these fox hunting and sporting tales. Many pages unopened, slight sunning to spine, bit of toning to pages, bookplate to front pastedown.

Wear and tears to edges of dust jacket and small chip to upper spine of dust jacket. Two small stains to corners of jacket. Old bookstore tag and old sticker residue on front flap of dust jacket. A Pharaoh Pharr Mystery. Detective Pharaoah Pharr hunts down a murder who decapitates his victims and uses them to torture the residents of a Florida town.

London: George Philip & Sons, [1886]. 8vo, green cloth with gilt titles, [2], iv, [5], 6-92, [4] pp. Uncommon exercise manual for girls, by Alexander Alexander, the director of the Liverpool Gymnasium. The introduction begins: "it will perhaps be allowed that girls have very little opportunities for physical recreation, although they require it quite as much", and advocates for prevention of a physical condition through exercise rather than waiting for a condition to develop, as most of the girls at the gymnasium were there for an ailment that could have been prevented. The rest of the text consists of instructions for a wide variety of exercises, from calisthenics to swimming to parallel bars; each set of instructions is illustrated with sketches of girls performing the exercise. Bowing to covers, wear/discoloration to covers, toning and mild foxing to pages.

Berlin, Wisconsin: Heaney Magic Co, 1924. Two illustrated catalogs issued by the Heaney Magic Company. Includes catalog no. 24, stapled softcover, 9 x 6", 96 pp, titled "Heaney's Professional Catalog of Wonders Magical Goods Illusions Stage Acts." Together with catalog no. 25, 6.25 x 4.25", 222 pp, pictorial wrappers, titled "Heaney Magic Company Magical Apparatus, Stage Illusions, Card Tricks, Mind Reading Effects, Crystal Gazing Acts, Spirit Tricks, Books, Novelties, Jokes." Toning to pages of catalog 24, in nice condition overall.

Frances E. Swift, 1899. Square 8vo, 22pp, original green gilt decorated cloth. Obscure volume of poetry by a Rockingham, Vermont native living in Falmouth, Massachusetts, according to a contemopary newspaper article, which notes that the "volume treats of homely themes" and includes an ode to Fall Mountain. Foxing to pages, couple of small tears to page margins, soiling and discoloration to covers.

New York: Edward H. Fletcher, 1850. 12mo, 155, [3]. 3 pp, original green decorative cloth with gilt spine titles. Scarce American edition of this tract on the advantages of the sabbath for the working class. A very attractive copy with bit of wear and soiling to front cover, foxing and toning to pages.

Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1933. First American edition, which precedes the UK edition. An attractive copy with slight spine lean, hint of cover wear, in a very good dust jacket, rubbed, chipped along spine ends and corners.

New York: McLoughlin Brothers, Circa 1880s. 10.5 x 9", pink illustrated wrappers, [12] pp, six color plates, stitched binding. A lavishly illustrated children's book adapted from the famous nursery rhyme. Part of Aunt Louisa's Big Picture Series. A good copy with staining to covers, bit of foxing to pages, slight chipping along spine, couple of tears to margins of pages, owner inscription to verso of one text page.

Rochester: William Alling, 1841. FIfth Edition. 6 x 4", brown cloth with gilt, 130, [2] pp. A 19th century American pictorial bible for children. Wear to corners and spine ends, area of staining to front cover, toning and foxing to pages, early owner inscriptions to front endpaper, half-title, and preface page, chip to rear endpaper.

New York: Leavitt & Allen, 1857. 5.75 x 4.75", cloth wrappers with gilt, 132 pp. Lavishly illustrated bible for children, making use of illustrations in place of words. Lacking pages 15-16 and 65-66, foxing to pages, staining to covers and some pages, front hinge cracked, wear to covers along edges.

Edgarton, Wisconsin, c.1929. Quarto, original printed wraps. A four page sales brochure with a one page typed cover letter on the company's letterhead with the sales pitch and features of the product. Brochure is advertising the company's full automatic semi truck and trailer with illustrations. It also boosts that the company is the worlds largest trailer factory. Letter is very good with some toning and two fold lines, corners with creases, brouchure with two fold lines else an excellent example.

London: Printed for Jacob Tonson, 1687. Large 8vo, [6], 145, [1] pp, half 20th century library binding preserving the original marbled boards, new endpapers. "Second Edition" stated to title page. This copy inscribed by Alexander R. Stephens of Augusta, Georgia on the last page; once in a 19th century hand and once in 1909. Records indicate that Stephens (or Stevens) emigrated from Ireland to Augusta in 1820. Several other names are also present on the first and last few pages--John O'Hara (dated 1819), John Campbell, Agnes Cambpell, A McDonald, and J. Buchanan, as well as an ink sketch of a garden scene to verso of title page. The first four leaves (a blank, the title page, and the first two text leaves), have been encased in protective plastic, which does appear to be removable (the pages are not stuck to it).
