'Red Badge Detective' endpapers, [viii] 307[1]pp with original unclipped jacket priced at $2.00. The author has signed the book on the blank following the front free endpaper, "With best wishes from the author/ John Rhode/June '32". The boards are bright with some dust staining and toning to the spine. There is a little pushing to the spine tips, three of the four corners are creased and there is a 2cm split in the cloth at the top of the lower joint. Internally there is some toning to a section of the endpapers where the dust jacket does not reach and a little spotting, mainly to the uncut edges but occasionally extending onto the text pages. Methuen, 1936. Hardcover. VG+/VG. 8th Edition. Blue cloth with black stamped vignette of Pooh and Christopher Robin to the front and titles to the spine, xi (i) 178(2)pp with black and white illustrations by E H Shepard throughout. In original yellow dust jacket with 2/6 price to the spine. Clean, bright boards with just a hint of shelf wear and a touch of pushing to the corners. Internally there is an ownership name and date to the front free endpaper but otherwise the pages are very clean and there is just a faint band of toning to the free endpapers where the dust jacket does not reach. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), has a little light marking and toning to the spine. There is rubbing to the corners and spine tips, minor loss to the bottom joints and small 0.7 x 1 cm chip to the lower joint on the front panel. There is also a little creasing to the front flap. The book has a pocket at the rear which holds a set of 30 interchangeable cards with sections of the crew members faces to allow a huge number of different faces to be created.
