New York: Random House, 1940. 1st Edition. Very Good. First edition, first printing  of the first Snopes Family novel. No dust jacket. Orginally intended as a stand-alone book, it was later followed by "The Town" in 1957 and "The Mansion" in 1959. Bound in black cloth over boards with the title and author on the front cover. Author, title, and publisher on spine. Small discoloration to front cover and a few smaller spots on spine and rear. Front endsheet slightly cocked and taped to first blank in repair. Back cover and bacnk endpaper taped. A few creases and smudges to some pages, very limited in my review. Pages are clean and clear. Block is low in the covers, mostly touching the shelf with additional space to the top side; appears to be from publication.  Pages: (10) 421 Dimensions: 8⅛ x 5¾ x 1⅝.

Unclipped dust jacket in mylar cover and backed by paper with slight toning and small creasing at top of spine. Grey boards with teal cloth spine containing title, author, and publisher in silver. Corners are sharp. Pages are clean. Book is slightly cocked at spine. Pages: (8) 312 Dimensions: 9¼ x 6⅜ x 1¼ .

New York: The Century Co, 1926. First Edition. Near Fine. Signed by the author on the limitations page; one of 350 copies (of which 345 were for sale). Illustrated by John Richard Flanagan. 'First printing, March, 1926' on copyright. Bound in quarter vellum with marbled paper over; gilded lettering on the spine. Minor toning to spine and with a 1/4 inch closed tear at head of spine. Solid and square. Many untrimmed/uncut pages; top edge raw, long and lower edges deckled.  Page XI/X of the preface with a two inch marginal tear; otherwise the interior is fine with no markings, spotting, and with a solid spine. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1989. Later Edition. Fine+. With four illustrations by F. Walker and Maurice Greffenhagen and an introduction by Dingle Foot. In original, unclipped, dust jacket in mylar. Maroon paper over boards with maroon cloth spine, silver lettering on spine. Square, sharp corners, very clean and clear interior. In nearly new condition, just likely read by someone gentle.

New York: St. Martin's Press, 1994. 1st American. Fine. First U.S. edition with full number line on copyright page. In original, unclipped, dust jacket in mylar. Black paper over boards, black cloth spine, and gilded lettering on spine. Text block very slightly sunk due to weight of the book and a few minor smudges to edges. Sharp corners. Interior is very clean and clear.

New York: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1976. 1st American. Fine. A Helen and Kurt Wolffe book. First American edition as stated on copyright with B C D E after. Translated from the French by Willard R. Trask. In original, unclipped, dust jacket in mylar; very minor rubbing at edges. Cream boards with pink lettering on spine and back, minor rubbing. Internally clean, clear, crisp, and with an unbroken spine.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1932. Early Edition. Very Good/Very Good. An early printing of this haunted house mystery featuring Judy Bolton. Illustrated by Pelagie Doane. In original, unclipped, jacket in protective sheet. Some chipping at edges, and a closed tear on back. Bound in green cloth over boards with purple illustration on front and purple lettering to front and spine. Pencil inscription from former owner on front pastedown and the image of a woman shining a flashlight and coming down stairs is outlined in pencil - no other internal markings. Interior is lightly and evenly toned, otherwise it is clean and clear.  Pages: (8) 212 (4)     Dimensions: 7⅝ x 5¼ x 1⅜.

Title, author, and publisher on spine but very faded; spine darkened. Shelf wear and fraying at edges of spine and corners. Toned edges, lightly toned interior, text is clear, bound thightly. Nearly very good condition.

Bookplate on front pastedown and large pencil signature to ffep. The interior is clean, clear, crisp, and in excellent condition.
