This is the guy Norman Mailer got out of prison to finish writing a book, who subsequently killed someone in a botched gas station robbery and went back to prison, leaving Mailer still at large. And this is that book. Regardless, Abbott is a genuinely skilled writer, and Belly of the Beast is worth reading on its own merits. And if you want a copy, this is the one you want.
Book is in as-new bookstore condition except for a hint of sunning, showing its age, on the top and bottom edges of the front and back boards. There are no other flaws to report for the book -- and you can see from my other listings that I frickin' over-report frickin' everything. DJ is similarly nice except for a couple of creases front and back, a small closed tear on the right front edge and tiny nicks on the corner of the spine. All of these are invisible from a few feet away with the book cozened in its clear archival cover.
