Opnieuw gebonden half Perkament, 4° Henricus Caesarius (Hendrik de Keijzer), geboren te Zaltbommel, was in zijn jeugd Rooms-Katholiek opgevoed maar op zijn zestiende of zeventiende jaar bekend geworden en geraakt door de Hervormde leer en daartoe overgegaan. Hij was sinds 1570 Rector van de Latijnse School in Zaltbommel en vanaf September 1577 predikant in Dordrecht. Daarna diende hij nog de gemeenten van Schoonhoven en Utrecht waar hij in 1625 overleed.

Two works by leading Swiss reformers, the first by Rudolf Gwalther (1519-1586), and the second by Heinrich Bullinger (1504-1575). Gwalther was one of Bullinger's students and was taken in the Bullinger residence in 1532 as he was an orphan. He followed in his foster fathers footsteps later as Antistes of the Zurich church after his death. The book presents on its 13 engraved plates elementary objects of early childhood perception. The Infant's library was published around 1800. It was one of the earliest of nineteenth-century collections of miniature books to be aimed specifically at children. Welsh, Bibliography of miniature books, 4817. Good copy.

Scholastic textbook by Reformed scholastic François Turretini, or Francis Turretin (1623-1687). Turretini studied in Geneva and Leiden before becoming professor of theology in Geneva in 1653. He stood as the major representative of theological orthodoxy in Geneva in the latter part of the seventeenth century. In his Institutio Theologiae Elencticae he lays out the doctrine of the Reformed Church, in the first volume he treats theology, Scripture, the Trinity, divine decrees, creation, providence, angels, the original state of humanity, sin and free will. With a contemporary hand-coloured title and several hand-coloured capitals. Old annotations in the margin. Claude Chevallon, 1479-1537, was a medieval French printer. His printer's mark had been two horses. He added the sun to this when his shop merged with the shop of his wife Charlotte Guillard, whose husband Berthold Rembold, also a medieval printer, died two years before. Ex-libris: Emil Dopheide. This second edition is not in WorldCat.

z.p., (16XX). Mooi en vroeg schilderij in de originele lijst uit de collectie Timan-van Heyst. Het werk is geschilderd op een vierkant doek met olieverf. De totale afmeting inclusief lijst is 40 x 42 cm., het schilderij zelf is 24 x 26 cm. Jacob Willemsz. de Wet was een Nederlands kunstschilder en afkomstig uit Haarlem. Hij vervaardigde vele werken met Bijbelse voorstellingen. Zijn geboorte- en sterfdata zijn onbekend maar liggen respectievelijk tussen 1610 en 1691. De schilder en biograaf Arnold Houbraken vermeldt in zijn werk ""De groote schouburgh der Nederlantsche konstschilders en schilderessen"" (1718): Zijn werk vertoont overeenkomsten met dat van Pieter Lastman en met het vroege werk van diens leerling Rembrandt. Het is niet uitgesloten dat De Wet bij de laatste in de leer is geweest. Uit aantekeningen in een bewaard gebleven schetsboek blijkt dat De Wet een groot aantal leerlingen had en kennelijk een bloeiende praktijk had op dit gebied.
