First Edition, first issue, without printer's imprint on verso of title-leaf. "Probably these copies were the earliest bound."-Ashley Library VII, pp. 120-121. Ownership signature on title of Charles Astor Bristed (1820-1874), favorite grandson of John Jacob Astor, American scholar, philologist, and Foley author. Inner hinges cracked at folds, else nearly fine.
