Good plus. 152 pages of cocktail recipes issued by a maker of quack medical cure alls. An ephemeral production with small cartoon and caricature illustrations within the text.

Kristiansand, Norway: D.P. Moe, 1826. 12mo, 208pp, tan boards with leather spine. Contemporary owner inscriptions to front pastedown. Very good with toning to pages, wear to covers, minor invisible soiling.

Detroit: Printed for the Publisher at the Daily Tribune Office, By George F. Pomeroy & Co, 1853. 9.25 x 6", green cloth with gilt cover lettering, [4], xxiv, [2], 18-48, [2], 49-64, [2], 65-80, [2], 81-112, [2], 113-160, [2], 161-192, [2], 193-224, [2], 225-319 pp, lacking the map of the city. The fourth city directory published in Detroit, Michigan, after those issued in 1837, 1845, and 1846. This 1853 directory "'marked the beginning of regular annual or biennial directory publishing for the city of Detroit" (McGinnis, "Michigan Genealogy", 108). Includes many ads for local businesses, some illustrated, and some on yellow paper. Rebacked with new spine, foxing and toning to pages, some rubbing to cover lettering.

Salt Lake City, Utah: The Arrow Press, 1912. 8vo, brown wrappers, 31 pp. A nice copy with a bit of chipping and tearing to edges of wrappers, name stamp to upper margin of title page.

Raleigh, N.C.: John Spelman, Printer to the State, 1861. Octavo, 240, iv, 268, iv pp, original quarter light brown calf with dark brown cloth over boards, gilt and morocco spine label. Confederate imprint. Covers the "Second Extra Session" of the North Carolina assembly, held in August and September, 1861, during which the body discussed financing and fighting the war and passed the Militia Law of North Carolina. This copy inscribed by Thomas Settle to front pastedown and stamped "Settle" to spine; Settle was a state supreme court justice and a founder of the North Carolina Republican party. During the Civil War he fought for a year on the Confederate side but after the war became dedicated to the cause of reconstruction, helping to found the state Republican party in 1867. Foxing and toning to pages, wear to covers, leather dry, spine ends chipped and discolored with some loss to leather, front cover detaching and held on by binding cords.

London: Methuen and Co, 1907. Octavo, 63pp, pale blue paper of boards with vellum spine, frontispiece illustration. A very early, finely printed essay on automobile travel, first published in Motor Magazine. Young was a prominent journalist and early motor enthusiast, the first person to publish a book about the sinking of the Titanic and author of "The Complete Motorist" and "The Joy of the Road." A very good copy with comtemporary gift inscription to front endpaper, soiling, offsetting and wear to covers, toning to pages.

London: Macmillan and Co, 1894 & 1895. First editions, in custom slipcase. With the bookplates of famed book collector Arthur Amory Houghton. An excellent set with spine of The Jungle Book slightly leaning, mild toning to pages, bindings with hint of wear to edges and spine tips, front hinge of The Second Jungle Book starting.

New York: The Century Co, 1913. Octavo, green pictorial cloth with gilt lettering, [8], 331, [1] pp, 16 color plates by Maurice and Edward Detmold. A lovely illustrated edition of this title. Light toning and occasional spotting to pages, 1914 gift inscription to front blank, corners and spine ends lightly bumped and rubbed, spine gently rolled, a touch of soiling to cloth.

Philadelphia: Griffith & Simon, N.D. (Circa 1850). 6 x 4", brown cloth with gilt spine titles and decoration, 108 pp, plus 24 illustration plates (including frontispiece of children playing hockey). A book consisting of descriptions of children's games, sports and amusements, told via a series of dialogues and letters between a schoolboy, his teacher, and his family. Includes chapters on, together with engraved depictions of, hockey, trap ball (a bat and ball game that preceded baseball), cricket, foot ball (soccer), bathing, shuttlecock, flying a kite, blind man's bluff, and much more. Mild foxing to pages, slight staining and spotting to endpapers, wear and discoloration to covers.
