Collection includes approximately 425 Polaroid Photographs from Apollo 15 and 16, plus 7 linear inches of files, manuals, memos and personnel documents for RCA Engineer Leo Weinreb. Archive has been stored in a clean dry environment and is in very good condition. Much of the following information is derived from the archive and from an RCA website devoted to their role in providing live feed television for numerous Apollo Missions including 15 and 16 in 1971 and 1972. The RCA Astro Electronics facility in East Windsor, New Jersey was awarded the contract to provide live feed for the lunar surface operations of Apollo missions 15,16, and 17. [National Parks] Death Valley National Monument Entrance Pass Window Sticker 1938 and 1940 Two octagonal stickers measuring 2.25 x 2.25 inches. In unused Fine Condition still with glue on front. These National Park entrance stickers were designed to be glued inside a vehicle windshield hence rarely found in unused condition. A rare collectible for any National Park Service collection. Death Valley was designated a National Monument in 1933 and upgrade to National Park status in 1994.

A fantastic and well-rounded collection of drafts, notes and manuscripts of a noted New Jersey educator and historian, Arthur L. Johnson. Some of the materials relate to the history of education in the New Jersey area, and others attempt to bring light to the medical and medicinal practices of Native Americans. There is also content on the fascinating history of the murder of a passionately pro-American chaplain's wife during the Revolutionary War. Arthur L. Johnson served as the superintendent of schools for Union County, New Jersey for 45 years. He founded the Union County Junior College, and helped organize the Union County Band and Orchestra Summer School, as well as the Eastern Conservatory of Music and Arts. Complete run of first editions of this influential and avant-garde quarterly literary journal published by the Neurotica Publishing Company (9 volumes 1948-1952), edited by Jay Irving Landesman except volume 9 which was edited by G. [Gershon] Legman who also served as Associate Editor for volume 5. Generally the staple-bound volumes are in near fine condition with light edge wear and minor soiling and rubbing. Volumes 8 and 9 show greater soiling and fading to the spine of volume 8. Cover art by noted designer Alvin Lustig. Jay Irving Landesman (1919-2011) led an interesting and varied life in St. Louis operating art galleries, salons and the Crystal Palace nightclub in the 40's and 50's before moving to London in the early 60's. 1907. [Nevada Mining] Notice of Location Black Rock No. 3 Bullfrog Mining District, Nye County, Nevada January 1907 Single leaf of printed and manuscript text which measures 8.5 x 14 inches. Recorder's office stamp filled in manuscript on verso. Light soiling and foxing. Small piece missing from top edge. Good Condition. Mining claim filed for a claim within the Black Rock No. 3 lode within the infamous Bullfrog Mining District. The claim was originally filed in 1905 but never worked and now re-filed. Gold was discovered in the Bullfrog District in August 1904 kicking off a feverish boom with the towns of Amargosa, Beatty, Bullfrog, Rhyolite and Gold Center popping up overnight. By 1910 the crash hit hard, and mines and homes were mostly abandoned. A nice early relic of the Bullfrog Mining District.

New York: McLoughlin Bros, 1887. Circa 1887 28-piece color jigsaw puzzle comprised of laminated paper. Only the edge pieces are interlocking, with the interior pieces rectangular. Complete with folding map copyrighted 1887 by McLoughlin Bros., in good condition with light wear at folds. The original box, in good condition, is worn at edges, light soiling. Chromolithographic cover to box depicts Lady Liberty with atlas on her lap showing a young 'native' student the atlas. Map measures 13 x 8.5 inches when completed.

First launched in 1922, the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial has been taking place in Gallup, New Mexico, for over 100 years. The Ceremonial is not only one New Mexico's oldest events, but also one of longest running celebrations of Native American culture and art. Early Ceremonials featured Native Americans primarily from the nearby Navajo Nation and Pueblo of Zuni, but soon attracted tribal members from throughout the west. Survey of the Premises of Dr. Thomas C [Colman] Montgomery Main Street Woodstock, New York by Jeremiah Purpose on behalf of the Pacific Fire Insurance Company, April 14th, 1866. Fire insurance companies in the 19th century began producing specialized maps with current and detailed information about the properties the companies insured. The best known were those maps produced by the Sanborn Map Company. This charming single page map from 1866 was produced to document the properties of Dr. Thomas Colman Montgomery of Woodstock, New York--complete with .5 x .5-inch woodblock stamps to indicate existing buildings. A nifty ephemeral remnant of a bygone era of Americana.

[New York][18th Century Hand-made Paper] 1796 Indenture with Rare 1793 Watermark on Paper from Philadelphia Leaf measures 12.75 x 15.75 inches with previous folds. Some foxing and discoloration. Minor separation at folds. Good Condition. 1796 manuscript indenture from Herkimer County New York recorded by John Frank. Indenture signed, sealed and delivered by James Hall to Biddad Noble. Of particular note is the beautiful 1793 Eagle Watermark on paper handmade by Andrew Onderdonk of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Luckily, manuscript text does not cover the watermark, so it is easy to discern. This intricate watermark is #743 in "American Watermarks 1690-1835. Most paper used in the United States in the 18th century was imported from Europe.

Newport Jazz Festival Photo Archive 1966 & 1967--1260 Photos, Newport, Rhode Island Newport Jazz Festival is an annual multi-day jazz music festival held in Newport, Rhode Island, beginning with the first festival in 1954. Throughout the years, Newport hosted many great jazz musicians, some returning year after year. Collection includes 1260 Photos (35mm negatives) and features mostly "concert" images although there are some backstage scenes, informal posed shots and views of the audience. Concert images capture the intensity and joy of these monsters of jazz. While we have not identified the photographer(s), they clearly were good and had access to the stage and the musicians at various venues. Many close-up photographs show the intensity and concentration of the musicians with their bandmates. You can almost feel the music through imagery. Both autograph and colorized photo of Norman Rockwell in matboard; the two pieces of matboard have been pasted together. Strong signature; nice pale gray marbled mat; fine condition. Signature reads "sincerely Norman Rockwell" in blue-gray ink. Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) was a renowned American painter and illustrator, producing over 4,000 original works, which still have much popular appeal due to their depiction of United States culture and everyday life. Rockwell created many cover illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post, illustrated more than 40 books, and painted portraits of several presidents and foreign dignitaries. Some of his most well-known paintings include Rosie the Riveter, the Willie Gillis series, The Problem We All Live With, and the Four Freedoms series. It extols the climate, roads, schools and diverse arability of the state, deemed "the Land of Opportunity" and "the Best of the West." We read of a "fine improved section near Barton," a "bargain 400 acre farm" in Antler, and the Souris territory, "noted for its heavy, black soil, particularly adapted to the growing of high-test protein wheat - the kind that usually commands a nice premium from the millers."
