The staples are rusted, and the front cover and fore-edge have some stains, else little wear.

Condition "Good only" because the page-edges are foxed. Otherwise a solid copy with firm binding, strong hinges and a spine very slightly off square. Very little wear to real cloth covers, which are a bit sum-faded around the edges. Unclipped dustjacket has a lot of wear and is heavily rubbed, but no major tears or chips.

"This admirable and enthralling text-book on training and tactics" (The Times [of London]); "Strikes a new note in his analysis of the mental side of running." (Sporting Life) I am rating this "Fair" only because although the binding and hinges are good and there is little wear to the cloth, ***the first three pages of Chapter 2 ("Training") are heavily (though neatly) underlined in red.*** Corners and spine-ends are bumped, and there is some smudging to the back free endpaper. The unclipped dustjacket has much wear and tear to the edges, including a large chip at the lower edge at the spine and back panel. The dustjacket also has considerable shelf-soil, and a small stain to the back panel.
