1981. Etching. 158mm by 120mm (platemark) 245mm by 198mm (sheet). Editioned (7/50), titled and signed in pencil by the artist. Austin Platt was an Australian printmaker. He etched many Australian buildings, esp schools after the Collegiate Etching and Fine Arts Studio began to sell etchings of schools. CONDITION : A couple of small spots on reverse where paper skinned, presumably where paper hinges once were.

The fourth USS Baltimore (C-3) was a United States Navy cruiser.The Caravel Pinta and Caravel Nina were boats from Columbus' expedition.HMS Blake, named in honour of Admiral Robert Blake, was the lead ship of the her class of protected cruiser that served in the Royal Navy from 1889-1922.From 1892 - 1895 she served as the flagship of the North America and West Indies Squadron.The fourth USS Philadelphia (C-4) was a cruiser of the United States Navy. It was designated as flagship of Rear Admiral Bancroft Gherardi, commanding the North Atlantic Squadron. Repaired tear in lower margin, just coming into the image. Faint crease top right corner.

Walter Hood Fitch was one of the most famous botanical artists of the Victorian era. Australian native botanical lithograph from Curtis's Botanical Magazine. William Curtis (1746-1799) was a trained pharmacist, in London, who maintained a large garden and devoted himself to the study of its flora. 1861. Tinted lithograph. 235mm by 360mm (image) 340mm by 495mm (sheet). The 'Cirque de l'Imperatrice' was located on the north-east side of the present Rond-Point of the Champs-Elysees. At first called the Cirque national, it also became known as the Cirque des Champs-Elysees and the Cirque Olympique des Champs-Elysees. In 1853 it was renamed Cirque de l'Imperatrice (in honor of the new Empress Eugenie), a name which it retained until the fall of the empire in 1870. Initially devoted exclusively to equestrian performances, it was later also used for other purposes, including grand concerts conducted by Hector Berlioz. From a series of lithographs depicting the famous buildings of Paris - 'Paris dans sa Splendeur', published in Nantes and Paris by Henri Charpentier in 1861.
