Nearly all of the biographies are accompanied by a fullpage b/w portrait photo. Binding very good. No ownership marks or o/w. The wraps are shelfrubbed and mildly rubbed at the extremities. Very scarce.

Complete run of the magazines published for the three years 1923-1925 bound together in most cases with original covers. Signed by the editor to the front pastedown suggesting this was the editor's personal copy. Variable paper stock but overall in excellent condition and undiscoloured. The leaf bearing pp. 3 and 4 of the November 1925 issue has been torn out. From the adjacent pages these two pages would appear to have featured advertisements. Many ads and photos and a treasure trove for the social or school historian. A couple of small annotations in blue pen seemingly by the editor. Binding tight. Rubbing to spine ends. Gilt titling to spine. Grey boards mildly rubbed at corners. An extremely scarce resource.

Spine darkened and scuffed at top. Pages unmarked but sl. age-toned. Crack at p. 30. No ownership marks or o/w but p. 160 - last page - has "Eva Rose 3/6 Wed 23/5/45" written in pencil - presumably place and date of purchase. Eva and Fred Rose were booksellers of note in Johannesburg during the WWII years and after. Binding still holding but a tad precarious. Extremely scare item which was republished by Mayibuye Books in 1993.
