Sledge of Atlanta responding to her comments about a piece he did on his Emmy Award-winning NBC program The Huntley-Brinkley Show on African American voting patterns in the 1964 presidential election, which saw Lyndon Johnson handily defeat Barry Goldwater. Brinkley writes in part, I regret that brief story I reported Wednesday night has been widely misunderstood, perhaps because I did not explain it thoroughly enough. . .
