This copy is free from previous owner's ink and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition.One review at the time of publication praised the essence of the plot but felt the latter half of the novel moved too slowly. A later review considered that this novel showed "Definite signs of decline" and felt the author was not entirely comfortable with the setting she described in the novel.

Each of these copies have been price clipped at all four corners, but retain the original 10s 6d net prices. The later two titles are sunned at the spine and have some sparse closed tears and surface wear. They are free from previous owner's ink and, overall, a very good/near fine set.

The boards are tight in the publisher's black cloth, free from notable marks. The internals and text blocks are pristine and clean. The author's signature is flat signed to the full title page in black ink. Overall, this is a near fine copy of a fine production. Drawing on such intriguing and diverse themes as pilgrimage, shamanism and tomb guardians, Perry takes the reader on a journey to an imaginary afterlife.

It has not been price clipped, displaying the original £13.99 net price (under the original vendor's sticker, located in Dublin). The boards are without wear and sharp. The top text block is mildly foxed, though the other two are immaculate. There is a previous owner's inscription to the front fly leaf, dated in the year of publication and dated to Dublin. The author's signature is flat signed to the full title page in blue ink, supposedly when visiting the Irish city in 1991. The dust wrapper, designed by Peter Juerges, is in admirable condition with only slight edgewear and handling marks to note. There is, however, one closed tear to the rear panel. It has not been price clipped. The boards are sharp in the publisher's cloth, with the black embossed lettering in the centre. There is an area of ghosting, ironically from the presence of the archival wrap. The author's signature is flat signed to the front free-endpaper in blue ink. The internals and text blocks are clean. This is number 10 of 600 printed. This is a near fine copy.

The spine tops are bumped and there are a few small closed tears present. It correctly shows the 25s. price. The boards are sharp in the original publisher's black cloth with gilt titling. The text blocks are bright and white throughout, but with some very light marks on the bottom edge. The author has flat signed in blue ink to the full title page. Overall, this is a very good (or better) copy of a fine signed title.
