London: Printed at the Caxton Press, by Henry Fisher, 1832. 2 vols., 4to, pp. [iv], 790; 885, [1], 56 + frontispiece in each vol., extra engraved title-page in vol. 1, and 104 engraved plates (of a maximum of 106), one of them hand-coloured. Contemporary half calf, marbled boards, spines divided by gilt rolls, other compartments decorated with central floral tools in gilt, edges sprinkled red. Some foxing and spotting, vol. 1 dampmarked at foot towards rear. Bindings slightly worn and marked, vol. 1 rear joint just cracking at foot (this sometime tidily filled with glue). [Selkirk], 1830. Manuscript folded sheet, 39cm x 95cm, formed of 3 sheets glued together. Sometime folded in 12 sections, folds chipped, torn and worn with slight loss, a little soiled, a few ink spatters to reverse. Slightly later manuscript note to rear. A petition to change the route of the proposed turnpike road into Selkirk from one running via Back Brae to a route running along Shaw Park. It has 198 signatures and per a manuscript note to rear, was ‘read by A. Lang to the several{?] meeting of Road Trustees and prayer granted on 30 Dec. 1830’.
