Yann Mingard is a Swiss photographer whose nature photographs focus on details of trees and forest undergrowth during the transitional time between twilight and dusk. There are 33 full page plates. The covers are thick black cardboard. There is a some shelfwear along the edges (which were not colored in black by the publisher), else this is a clean tight book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. It does not appear to have been issued with a dust jacket. There is no indication of the edition, but it is most likely a first edition. These essays nearly all relate to northern Michigan--its sights, sounds, people and natural beauty. Dates for items included seem to range from about 1922 - 1933. It llists all members of the Michigan SAR from its inception in 1890 with a cross-indexed listing of ancestors who fought in the American Revolution. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. Very Good- with no dust jacket. 1940. Hardcover. Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (1896-1953) was a Florida author who won the Pulitzer Prize for this, her third book. First published in 1938, it was released in 1939 with illustrations by famed illustrator N. C. Wyeth: in a limited edtion in, a Scribner Classic edition, and in a Pulitzer Prize edition. There are 12 color illustrations by Wyeth as well as a pictorial cover and end papers. This copy is the Scribner Classic edition. It is in presentable condition with no owner names, bookplates, or other inner or outer markings, except that the joint at the inside edge of the secont front blank flyleaf is tender--however, the front and rear illustrated end papers are intact. The original black cloth binding and the front cover Wyeth-illustrated color pictorial paste-down is in nice condtion, however the top edge of the spine is pulled.
