Includes the University's budget and a list of donations to the library and museums over the course of the year, among these a mummy from a cave in the Aleutian Islands, from Gen. J.F. Miller; and a young polar bear (presumably stuffed) from Barnum's Hippodrome. OCLC locates two copies as of August, 2020, at the Library Company of Philadelphia and the AAS.

Spine ends and corners worn, with fading along edges and some forgivable spotting to front and rear boards. Front hinge cracked with front free endpaper torn out along gutter, but binding is secure.. A series of poems from the screenwriter of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931), The Phantom of the Opera (1943), and The Wizard of Oz, among many others.

"If, by accident, this work should find favor among his countrymen, some apology for the many faults, which, though hidden from the author, will be obvious enough to nicer eyes" (from the Preface, p. vii). The unnamed author was Alexander Slidell Mackenzie (1803-1848), who served as Captain of the ship the USS Somers. Though his name was eventually cleared, Mackenzie came under severe public criticism ten years after this work was published for his shipboard execution of three men suspected of mutiny.

Slipcase a rubbed alon gedges with some surface dampstaining at tail of spine and one panel; split starting along one top seam, but still sturdy and holding.

Binding is sound. Selection from 181 translations produced in a year-long project run by The European Federation of Associations and Cenres of Irish Studies. Languages include Castilian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, Gaeilge, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish.

Novel based on the 1938 film of the same title, itself based on the characters and scenarios created by Brand. Dr. Kildare proved and enormously popular creation and went on to feature in nine novels before the author's death in 1944.
