Full colour facsimile. = A stunning, gigantic plate by the famous bird painter and ornithologist John Gould (1804-1881), depicting a bird from tropical Africa, the yellow-billed turaco. It occurs in coastal regions from Sierra Leone to the northernmost tip of Angola. Its current scientific name is Tauraco macrorhynchus. This excellent reproduction is faithful to the original in every detail. An excellent, clean copy.
