The book is in very good to near fine condition with lightly tanned pages and a small amount of foxin. The dustwrapper is near fine with light rubs and discolouration over the UK price where a price sticker had been at one stage. See photos for detail.

Iain Banks (The Wasp Factory) started writing science fiction under this name Iain M Banks with this novel, the first in The Culture series.

This British hardcover edition was released simultaneously with the limited edition, both published by Macmillan.
