This is an inscribed first edition memoir inscribed by activist John Cyrus Cort (1913-2006) to American artist Will Barnet (1911-2012). Barnet, whose body of work spanned 80 years, was a recipient of many awards including a National Medal of Arts awarded by President Obama and the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters from the government of France. Cort was a prominent Christian Socialist activist and thinker as well as co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America for some years.
