The tragedies of Euripides, translated from the classic Greek into modern demotic, plus interpretive prefaces and semiotic analyses by distinguished Greek scholar and philologist, Demetrios Sarros. Two volumes: 372-page Volume II (1935), containing Medea, Hecuba, Elektra, and Andromache, and 351-page Volume III (1938) with Phoinissai, Iketides, Erakleidai, and Kyklos, beautifully bound together in custom quarter calf with textured green cloth, raised bands, gilt rules, gilt spine decorations, gilt morocco title labels, and decorative end papers. Fine condition. A most handsome volume.
