Signed by author David Aguirre on title page. Includes biographical sketch based on the author's extensive interviews with Sigler and numerous rare surfing photos dating from the 1920's, all annotated in detail. Sigler died in 2011 at the age of 101 and is remembered as a true waterman. 100 pp. 7 3/4" x 9". No dust jacket, as issued. Tight, immaculate copy. Extremities crisp. Unmarked front to back. Illustrated with protraits of James Figg, George Taylor, John Broughton, and John Slack. Index includes all boxers who have contested for the world's heavy weight championship, as well as many other notables. This boxing history starts with the 18th-century James Figg, the first English bare-knuckle boxing champion. Covers with soil spots, frayed cloth at extremities. Ownership signature on pastedown and dedication page. Binding is cracked but intact, no loose leaves. A glue repair has been applied to the gutter at pg 177.

x On publication page, " First printing: November, 1986". Book is in virtually new condition, excepe for a red mark and red line made by a magic marker on the top and bottom edges of the pages - only visible when the book is close. (see photos). Dj .has slight shelf wear along edges, some slight creases and indents. One tear about an inch long along bottom rear edge.Front of Dj is clear and crisp. Dimensions: apx. 14.25 x 10.5 x 3/4" .

"Really intense and progressive people count the calories in carrots and the vitamins in veal and advise us to live on raw cabbage.This book is not for them,but for the bad lots who openly admit that they like the pleasures of the table and who enjoy life".

Front wrapper, ii,28pp. Lacking the half title but with the rare printed front wrapper (showing the price of Six Pence) laid down and bound in. Text complete. Top edge of pages have been cut and gilded, the others are untrimmed. Pages a bit marked and rubbed but overall a very good example. The original front wrapper has some small areas of loss to the edges and corners and has been professionally laid down. Bound in modern half red crushed morocco by C. Walters. Spine with raised bands, ruled in blind. Compartments lettered in gilt. Boards with dark red cloth. Burgundy endpapers. Previous owners bookplate (Douglas Peter Crossman, Earl Stonham) on front pastedown endpaper. Overall a very good copy of this uncommon political satire, mocking the supporters of George II and Prince James Stuart, the Old pretender. Not in Halkett & Laing.:
