London: John G. Murdoch [circa 1868]. (Hardcover set) 718, 678, 694, 672pp. Good to very good, no dust jacket. Pebble grained brown cloth over brown leather spine and corners, raised bands on the spine, titles and ornament in gilt, and the edges bevelled. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, illustrations, numerous steel engravings on plates, indices. The bindings are aged and there is some cracking to the hinges. (History--England, History--England).
