First Edition of this rare first study on Mexico peasantry in Turkish literature written by early Republican Turkish peasantry ideologist and early pioneer of the Republican illumination. Nusret Kemal, who works on the peasantry ideology of many countries in Europe, America, and the Far East, sees Mexico differently from other examples in this context. Although there is a disconnection between the city and the countryside, having a school in each village was also noted as a reason to reduce concerns about the future in this book. According to him, because the school is described not only as a place where education is given but also as an important place where culture is continued, cultural heritage is shared and the consciousness of the nation is kept alive. In addition, schools, which serve as a bridge for the revolutionary movements to reach the people, have been interpreted as the most important pillar of state-people integration. This text, in the early period of the Republic of Turkey, has been an important reference in the context of the establishment of the Village Institutes of Turkey. Kemal says in the preface "When speaking of Mexico, one point in particular that deserves attention is that the gap between the modern city and the backward village is too deep to be bridged in one year, or even a generation.
